The attractive location offers both: the advantages of a pleasant greenery and the fast accessibility of the old town and the university.
There are 182 single apartments, 51 double apartments with integrated kitchen, shower and WC for students and 8 apartments for teachers.
The building encompasses approx. 9.500 m² gross floor area and is positioned centrally on the property. The building is divided into two curved axes. To the river in the west the shorter axis is oriented over four floors, the main part of the building in the east extends over five floors. The centerpiece is the large, glazed atrium, which provides a pleasant light play in the middle of the building and also offers the residents a protected outdoor space.
Balconies and terraces, which can be reached across all corridors and communal areas, accentuate the cube by means of back-up and protrusions, while at the same time ensuring a wide-range dwelling in the open air on all floors. In the upper storeys, additional appealing flat roof terraces are generated by corresponding recesses.
In addition to a party room, a fitness room and an infrared cabin, the park-like outdoor area provides students ample sports- and leisure areas and quiet learning zones.
The ‘living campus’ was awarded ÖGNI Gold for Sustainable Construction. The certification systems assess the ecology, economy, socio-cultural and functional quality, technology, processes and location throughout the building lifecycle.
